Beyond the sea, towards the villages

Pioppi is not just a beach. A network of low-environmental-impact routes connects the marina to the villages of the hilly hinterland — San Mauro Cilento and Serramezzana — among terraced olive groves, springs, rural chapels and ancient drovers' roads.

These itineraries are designed to extend the season for tourism and counter the depopulation of the village: reasons to visit even in the non-bathing months, when Cilento shows its most authentic face, made of olive harvesting, home cooking and slow rhythms.

The routes

Three slow itineraries
from Pioppi

On foot, on horseback or by e-bike: three low-impact ways to discover the Cilento hinterland.

I
Olive Trail · Pioppi → San Mauro Cilento

8 km, +320 m, ~3 hours, medium difficulty. From the marina you climb among terraced olive groves up to San Mauro Cilento, home of the cooperative EVO oil. Fountains, rural chapels and views over the Tyrrhenian Sea. On foot only: zero emissions.

II
Serramezzana Loop on horseback

12 km, half a day, ideal in spring and autumn. The smallest village in Cilento is reached along ancient drovers' roads, in collaboration with the riding schools and farm stays of the territory. An experience in contact with nature in the mid-seasons.

III
Coast & Hill by e-bike

22 km, +450 m, one day. Loop between the Pioppi seafront and the hilly villages, rideable with pedal assistance. Tasting stops at the zero-kilometre producers of the Cilento Pantry.

IV
Territorial mapping of the experiences

All routes are mapped and connected to the partner producers and restaurants of the portal: a digital ecosystem that enhances the entire territory of Pollica and the neighbouring municipalities.
